Parfum Frais Rescue Bar
In the before-times I attended a perfume making workshop at the museum of fragrance in Paris (run by fragrance house Fragonard). I learned a brief history of alcohol-based perfumes and a few guiding principles of perfumery. Then, working under the guidance of a professional Nose (what they call perfumers in France), I created my own Eau de Cologne. The result is this delicate, sun-shiny citrus & floral elixir that I've now adopted for my Rescue Bar. I created the New England Apothecary Rescue Bar to help care for my skin with deeply hydrating oils and butters without creating a greasy mess. I also wanted to be able to use the bar to the last bit without collecting dust or requiring secondary containment. The simple push-up stick package achieves both goals, and makes the bar quite travel-friendly.
This delicate blend of organic, fair-trade cocoa butter and coconut oil, kokum butter, and apricot kernel oil deeply moisturizes without blocking pores. An added mixture of natural waxes imparts additional structural integrity to the bar and a protective barrier to the skin to help lock in moisture. I've added a touch of a sustainably sourced plant-based emollient that helps these skin-loving ingredients penetrate deeply into the skin while also imparting a de-greasing effect, so my Rescue Bar shouldn’t feel excessively greasy or heavy after application.
Fragrance options:
- Lavender: Classic calm-inducing lavender
- Fragrance-Free: no fragrance added - will have very mild fragrance of natural ingredients used
- Tahitian vanilla - Beautifully delicate vanilla bloom. More floral and softer than typical vanilla.
- Parfum Frais - Custom citrus-forward perfume blend. Bergamot, lemon & lavender, with a touch of orange blossom & neroli.
- Grapefruit - Crisp energizing citrus
- The Mendesian - Custom perfume intended to pay tribute to the iconic Ancient Egyptian classic “The Mendesian”. Indulgent full-bodied citrus & spice blend featuring Cassia, Cardamom, and Myrrh
Apply to rough spots such as knees, elbows, feet, or anywhere that could use a moisture boost twice daily. For best results, use immediately after a shower, while skin has not yet fully dried. Can also be used as a post-waxing skin conditioner, or as a solid cuticle oil to keep your nail beds happy all winter long.
For external use only, and I do not recommended use on the face.
